Kids Book Reviews: “Don’t Turn the Page”
It’s nearly bedtime for little Sami the hedgehog but she refuses to go to bed, insisting that she simply isn’t tired yet. Sami’s mother cleverly decides to ask Sami to pick a storybook first to be read later. Sami quickly become wrapped up in the story, imitating the actions of the main character in the storybook from start to end. Author Rachelle Burk has joined forces with illustrator Julie Downing to create this cozy bedtime tale perfect for sending young children off the dreamland. In relation to that, young readers will revel in the illustrations of the little hedgehog carrying out the tasks that they do each day such as brushing her teeth and putting on her cute little pajamas. Equipped with small bits of rhyming text and a soothing story to go along with it, this book has all the necessary elements of an effective bedtime tale for young ones. As a final note, this book is sure to be a hit amongst young children and even put a smile on parents’ faces.
