The story of The Rainfall Hollow
The Rainfall Hollow is the Moonlit Hollow on the nights it rains — and it is the hollow that understands why rain at bedtime is the best sound there is. Over the moss mounds arches one huge, rounded leaf, big enough to shelter the whole moss bed, and the rain comes down past it in fine silver threads, beading on the moss, all night, going nowhere. The secret of rain is not the rain. It is the dry spot inside it: being warm, and covered, and hearing the weather that cannot reach you. The hollow worked that out long ago and grew itself a roof, and the Crescent Moon sleeps on above the clouds regardless, because rain has never once woken him and he sees no reason to let it start now.
