Who you are agreeing with
These terms are between you and Fractional Quest Ltd, registered in England and Wales under number 17322105, at 71–75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. By creating an account or using the site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the service — and if a particular clause troubles you, write to hello@worldoftardy.com rather than guessing.
The account belongs to a grown-up
You must be 18 or over and the parent or guardian of any child whose profile you create. Children do not get accounts, passwords or logins on this service. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in to yourself.
When you create a child profile you confirm you have the authority to do so. You can delete it at any time, and everything attached to it goes with it.
What you may do with the stories
Play them at bedtime, at nap time, in the car, on holiday, and as many times as it takes. Use them with your own children and the children in your care. Show a grandparent. That is the whole point of them, and none of it needs our permission.
What you may not do
Please do not download, copy, re-upload or redistribute the films, songs or artwork; do not put them on another platform, channel or app; do not use them commercially, in a nursery or school setting as a paid service, or to train a machine-learning model; and do not strip out the names, credits or watermarks. Do not try to break the site, scrape it, or get at other people’s accounts.
If you would like to use something here in a setting we have not thought of — a nursery, a ward, a charity — ask us. The answer is often yes, and it is free to ask.
Who owns what
The World of Tardy, its characters, stories, films, songs and artwork are owned by us or licensed to us. The five picture books the world is built on were written by Dan Keegan, illustrated by Caroline Artayudianto and published by South Odessa Ltd. The site itself is operated by Fractional Quest Ltd. Nothing on this site transfers any of that to anyone else.
What it costs
Browsing is open to anyone. Playing a story needs a free account, and that is the only gate — it is an account, not a payment. If we ever introduce a paid tier we will say so clearly and in advance, and nothing you already have will be taken away without notice.
This is not medical advice
The Sleep Ladder, the route and the techniques described on this site are a storytelling method, not a clinical intervention. Nothing here diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents any condition, and nothing here should be used in place of advice from a GP, health visitor or paediatric sleep specialist. If your child has a persistent sleep problem, or anything about their sleep or breathing concerns you, please seek qualified medical advice.
We cannot promise it is always up
We will do our best to keep the service running and the library growing, but we cannot guarantee it is available without interruption. We may add, change or remove stories and features. If we ever have to shut the service down, we will give account holders reasonable notice.
Where our responsibility ends
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for business losses, or for anything arising from your misuse of the service.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, you keep all your statutory rights, and nothing here takes them away.
Ending it, from either side
You can close your account whenever you like, for any reason or none, and your data goes when it does — see the privacy policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, particularly anything that puts other people or children at risk. Where it is fair to do so, we will tell you why first.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you keep the protection of your local law and may bring proceedings in your own courts.
