Songs for kids with Tardy

ABC songs for kids — a song for every letter of the alphabet, its sound, and the words that start with it — and, for the end of the day, an hour of soft rain.

ABC songs with Tardy

A song for every letter, sung slowly enough to join in: the letter, its sound, and a handful of words that start with it.

ABC Animals A to Z

The same alphabet at Animal School, with an animal for every letter. Meet every animal, A to Z.

The whole alphabet in one go

An hour each, start to finish, for a car journey or a rainy afternoon.

Baby sleep music

An hour of soft rain and quiet music in the Sleepy Forest, for the ones still too young for a story.

Alphabet songs for kids, sung slowly

Every letter song works the same way, so a child who knows one knows them all. The letter arrives first, big and friendly, and says its own sound.

Then the sound comes again on the beat, and again, with a handful of words that start with it, each one shown as it is sung. Then a chorus to join in with, call and answer, and the letter once more at the end.

The same shape, letter after letter, is the point: phonics is learnt by hearing a sound many times in a row, and repetition is something these songs are not shy about.

The friends in the songs are the World of Tardy cast — Baba Bear for B, the Cata Pillar for C, the Dream Dog for D, Nidra for N and Tardy himself for T — and, in ABC Animals A to Z, an animal for every letter at Animal School, from the ant to the zebra.

These are daytime songs, bright and awake, for circle time, a car journey or a rainy afternoon. When the day is over, the bedtime stories for kids and the lullabies for babies take over, and the baby sleep music above plays an hour of rain in the Sleepy Forest with nothing in it that moves suddenly.

The songs that are already out are on YouTube: ABC Songs with Tardy, World of Tardy and Baby Sleep Music with Tardy. The rest follow as they are uploaded. If you want one place to start, the whole alphabet in one hour is it.
