The story of The Snowfall Hollow
The Snowfall Hollow is the Moonlit Hollow on the nights it snows — the same moss mounds, the same moss bed, the same sleeping moon, with soft rounded snow lying in the dips between the mounds and fat, slow flakes drifting down out of the dark. The snow never buries anything: the moss tops stay green above it, so the hollow reads as itself wearing winter lightly, the way a bed wears an extra blanket. And the flakes fall the way everything in Sleepland moves — without hurry, without weather in the angry sense, each one taking its own long time to land. Watching snow fall is one of the oldest ways of falling asleep in the world. This is the place that does nothing else.
